Every week, the seniors from ‘We Are Almost There’ manage to conquer the hearts of viewers with their journey through the south of Europe. But in Tuesday evening’s episode it is mainly the heart of participant Roelof that is touched.
The candidates of the slow TV program travel with their campers and caravans to Porto, a large city in Portugal. The participants explore the city and especially the eye-catcher: a cathedral.
But Roelof and Berend walked outside. There they enjoy a street musician who plays a song by Andrea Bocelli on a violin. “It’s beautiful music, really great,” says Roelof. Not much later he gets angry. “All kinds of memories come flooding back,” he says with tears in his eyes. “Sometimes you can listen to it without it and other times you can…”, he points to his wet eyes. “Just came in.”
