There are many reasons to love Red Dead Redemption 2. The list is anything but short. We would end up making one with the reasons for not loving this work of art. And I’m sure many people could use Arthur Morgan’s voice as one of the reasons, because Oh mama the big voice of the young man!
In case you don’t know him, the voice of Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2 belongs to the actor Roger Clarkwho won the award for Best Performance at The Game Awards in 2018. And he received three more nominations for the same award throughout 2019. There is no doubt that he deserves every last ovation because he does his job very well. ..maybe too much.
Roger Clark revealed in several interviews that he had to re-record several lines of dialogue because they sounded too sexy or intimate… and they were directing Arthur Morgan’s mare, whose name, by the way, is Boadicea. The person in charge of giving the wake-up call to Clark was one of the assistant directors of the game.
“Roger, we have to do the horse lines again,” she told him as he asked why. “Well… it sounds a little too intimate. You know, it sounds like you’re not talking to a horse,” he continues explaining, while recounting that he didn’t understand anything. He had to play the audio to realize that his voice sounded more like something you whisper to your lover than to your mare while riding through the Wild West. You could say it went too sexy.
