Giving “300 refugees the opportunity to qualify for something we need, care and assistance for the fragile, is extraordinary”. This was said by the archbishop of Bologna and president of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI), Matteo Zuppi, in his speech at the press conference presenting the project dedicated to refugees and migrants, promoted by the Foundation of the Generali group, The Human Safety Net.” This opportunity opens up a long-awaited qualification for refugees, because sometimes we leave them in limbo, when instead they have a great desire for the future”, he underlines. “There will be 300 refugees” involved “and I hope that in 1 or 2 years we will add an extra zero, because we have an extraordinary need”, he adds.
Archbishop Zuppi also highlighted the value of the initiative of Generali and its Foundation for the Italian healthcare system. “The theme of treating frailty is obviously one of the biggest problems to which the humanism of Europe and Italy must guarantee an answer”, he remarks. “And I hope that the experience can be strengthened because it is precisely in the right dimension, that of treating fragility by giving opportunities to those who are looking for nothing more than this”, he concludes.
