ROME – Grisù, the cute firefighter dragon, celebrates his 60th birthday with new episodes. From Monday 30 September, the new episodes of “Grisù”, the brand new animated series that has made young and old viewers fall in love, will be available for the first time on Rai Yoyo and RaiPlay. Appointment every day, at 8.15am and 3.40pm, and from Sunday to Thursday at 8.50pm on Rai Yoyo, while the complete boxset with all the episodes will be available on RaiPlay. The production was managed by Mondo TV Group and Marco Pagot, representative heir of the character, in collaboration with Rai Kids and ZDF Studios.
The new animated series of Grisù, the young and friendly dragon who has always dreamed of becoming a firefighter, is based on the animated classic created by the authors Nino and Toni Pagot. Grisù was born on 28 April 1964, the day of his debut on TV in the program “Carosello” as the protagonist of a candy commercial. Carosello represented a sort of bedtime fairy tale for children because “Carosello finished, everyone goes to bed!”, and for this reason Nino and Toni Pagot tried to create stories that could be fairy tales. So Grisù’s story also began with “Once upon a time there was a dragon… or rather a Dragon and a Little Dragon”. In his TV debut on Carosello the character was born as Little Dragon. Only years later, with the idea of a series designed for an international market, Toni Pagot christened it Grisù (like the gas of the same name). Success is assured.
Even in the new 3D series Grisù has always been very clear about what he wants to do when he grows up, and what his vocation is, and he repeats it to everyone: “When I grow up I will be a firefighter!”. Brave, altruistic, determined to help, this is how firefighters are, and this is how our little hero dreams of being too. Grisù, however, is a young fire-breathing dragon, his nature is an obstacle to his vocation as a firefighter. But every time Grisù witnesses an accident, or when the fire siren sounds, with his sense of duty he cannot resist and flies to the rescue; just like a firefighter! for Grisù all the obstacles or challenges that he finds himself having to overcome are nothing more than new tests on his way towards his strongest certainty: when he grows up he will be a firefighter!
Grisù will be celebrated on Sunday 6 October at Romics, the International Festival of Comics, Animation, Cosplay, Cinema and Games scheduled at the Rome Fair. In the Grandi Eventi Hall there will be the “Happy Birthday Grisù” party, dedicated to the 60th birthday of the famous TV dragon. Tiziana Martello, current voice of Grisù, the Raggi Fotonici authors and performers of the theme song and some representatives of Mondo TV, D-Hub Studios and Rai Kids, producers of the new series, will be present.
