FC Bayern has had a perfect start to the new season. After three wins in the Bundesliga, the Munich team were able to carry their good form over to the Champions League: their opening match was a 9-2 win against Dinamo Zagreb, with Harry Kane standing out with his four-pack. Apart from the lack of attention in defence, which led to the two goals conceded shortly after half-time, the record champions also put on an impressive performance as a team.
In the Bundesliga, Bayern want to continue exactly where they left off on Tuesday evening. On Saturday afternoon (3:30 p.m.), coach Vincent Kompany’s team will be visiting Werder Bremen. In order not to give away their lead in the table or even extend it, Bayern must return their focus to everyday league life as quickly as possible.

After the first English week of the season, Kompany could provide freshness and give one or two players a break. The Belgian did not say at the press conference on Friday whether he would rotate the squad, but one or two players from the second row can hope for a chance. For example, Thomas Müller or Mathys Tel, who sat on the bench for the full game against Zagreb for the second time this season.
“We want to use the whole squad. That’s why I can’t say whether I’ll change anything tomorrow. We have a big squad, that’s not a luxury, it’s something we need to achieve our goals. It’s important that the boys fight for their places,” Kompany said, leaving his lineup open.
What is unclear is who will be between the posts on Saturday. After Manuel Neuer had to be substituted at half-time on Tuesday due to an injury, Kompany said that they would only decide after the final training session on Friday whether the 38-year-old is fit enough to play for the northern Germans. “We don’t want to take any unnecessary risks. But it looks good,” added the Belgian. It sounds like the captain will be able to play at the Weserstadion.
