After more than four years of almost complete silence and little information, Netflix and Ubisoft have finally presented the long-awaited project that has been in development since 2020: Splinter Cell: DeathwatchThis animated series, based on the popular spy franchise, has released its first trailer, with Sam Fisher as the main protagonist.
It has been through the event Geeked Week where the American streaming platform showed this highly anticipated adaptation for the first time. And although it was only a 35-second preview, the company has officially confirmed that the actor Liev Schreiberknown for bringing to life Ray Donovan in the series of the same name and playing Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, will voice the legendary Sam Fisher.
Michael Ironsidewho has brought the character to life in the video games, hinted in an interview a few months ago that Schreiber would be voicing Fisher, but it was never officially confirmed until now. In fact, at the time Ironside wasn’t entirely sure, but luckily he was spot on with his comments.
The animation for the series is being handled by Danish studio Sun Creature, known for their work on Love, Death & Robots and for animating various commercial projects for titles such as League of Legends and Apex Legends. There is no confirmed release date yet, but it is expected that Splinter Cell: Deathwatch hit the small screen sometime in 2025.
