Sovereigns, what are they anyway? “They are people who say that they no longer want to participate in society,” De Boer explains. However, there are different gradations. “There are people who do that without breaking the rules. A smaller group of a few thousand people also do that by actively ignoring the law and regulations in the Netherlands. An even smaller group of a few dozen, and that is what we are dealing with in this case, also takes up weapons to translate that conviction into action.”
