On the Spitdijk near Deventer this morning a car crashed into a tree along the road. The driver stated that he had to swerve for a cyclist who was riding in the middle of the road, instead of on the adjacent cycle path. The driver was checked for injuries by ambulance personnel, but did not have to go to the hospital. The car sustained considerable damage and had to be towed away by a recovery company.
