The German Football Association was founded in Leipzig on January 28, 1900, meaning that the 125th anniversary is just a few months away. It seems that they want to celebrate this event with a special jersey that is intended to be a tribute to the beginnings.
As the usually very well-informed platform Footy Headlines reported that the jersey should look “very classic and understated”. The anniversary shirt – unlike the current jerseys – should not have any unusual design elements and should be completely white. Even the DFB logo and the logo of supplier adidas should be in white on the jersey.
Speaking of the DFB logo: It is likely that the jersey will not have the current one, but a classic DFB crest – possibly even the very first logo from 1900. The federal eagle will surround the logo. The federal flag will also be incorporated into the neck.
Footy Headlines added that they don’t yet know the exact look. However, based on the information available, a forecast was made that could be pretty close to the final design.
The anniversary jersey will be one of the last to be produced by adidas for the time being. As of 2027, the DFB has entered into a partnership with the US giant Nike.
