When will we be able to get our hands on The Elder Scrolls 6? We don’t know the date, but Todd Howard’s latest statements on the subject weren’t encouraging. The Bethesda boss made it clear that we’ll have to wait quite a while, and that’s a problem on top of that.
And Bruce Nesmith, the former lead designer of Skyrim, has had a chat with Kiwi Talkz, collected by GamesRadar+, in which he points out a great conflict. Specifically, the one related to the expectations that are being generated around the sixth installment of the saga, because It will be “almost impossible” comply with them for the developer.
“The 30-year-old professional artist who’s creating a piece of art can’t control expectations because they have all that history[from previous games]. It’s there whether they like it or not, and the same goes for fans who want to buy The Elder Scrolls 6, their expectations will be almost impossible to meet.”
However, Nesmith is more than clear that “It will definitely be an amazing game”which is very likely given Bethesda’s long track record of creating open-world titles with great narrative possibilities.
However, the problem will extend to those responsible for communication, since “marketing departments simply They put their hands on their heads and cry“when they have to manage expectations of this magnitude.
If there’s one thing we know for sure about The Elder Scrolls 6, it’s that it will be an Xbox exclusive, or at least that’s what Phil Spencer stated in 2023. On the other hand, development has already begun, so Bethesda’s offices must be smoking.
