Anzio, September 18, 2024 – The initiative by Poste Italiane “Label the mailbox” continues in Anzio, Pomezia and Nettuno. The project was born with the aim of correcting a phenomenon, that of mailboxes without names, which is widespread throughout the country and which in many cases complicates the delivery of correspondence due to the objective difficulty in identifying recipients by postmen.
Overall, throughout the province, there are approximately 800 communications that postmen have begun to deliver to families residing in the municipalities of Anzio, Ardea, Pomezia, Tor San Lorenzo, Marina di Tor San Lorenzo, Lido dei Pini, Torvaianica and Laviniowhich present the greatest difficulties and require collaborative intervention by citizens. In the previous awareness campaign, launched last year, the initiative involved an additional 1,000 families.
The required interventions are simple: it involves regularizing the “anonymous mailboxes” and intercoms without indications using adhesive labels complete with the name and surname of all residents. The labels to be used, tear-off and adhesive, are included free of charge in the warning letter where citizens are also invited to communicate, where necessary, the updated address to all their usual senders, in particular the utility suppliers.
The awareness letters are delivered in the territory directly by the postmen of the distribution centers of Anzio Colonia, in via Guglielmo Marconi, Nettuno, in via della Vittoria and Pomezia in via Trevisowhich also have jurisdiction over other municipalities and localities on the Roman coast which also have jurisdiction over other municipalities on the coast.
Particularly interested in this intervention are municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants, a significant segment of the population to which Poste Italiane has long been dedicating particular attention, to accompany their redevelopment and sustainable development, as always highlighted by CEO Matteo Del Fante.
Mailboxes without names are just one of the causes of external difficulties that postmen have to deal with on a daily basis. Also frequent are situations of inconsistency between the addresses shown on the shipments and the actual addresses of the recipients, incorrect or inconsistent toponymy, completely absent mailboxes.
