The upcoming season will be marked by news for the SuperSport. As anticipated last week, two Ducati teams will exit the scene. The first is Aruba Racing, busy this season with Huertas, the other instead Barni, in action with Yari Montella. We are talking about the two teams currently fighting for the title with the Spanish rider and the Italian one competing for the sceptre of the category.
While on the one hand we are seeing these two farewells, on the other hand there is a significant piece of news, represented by Yamaha. The Japanese manufacturer will bring the long-awaited R9 to the track in 2025. The three-cylinder will take over from the R6 and we will see it with some teams like Ten Kate, GMT94 (soon to say goodbye to SBK) and most likely Evan Bros, the team led by Fabio Evangelista who contributed to the relaunch of Andrea Locatelli in SSP.
Speaking of the Bergamo rider, he himself has done some tests with the new bike to understand its sensations and potential. There is therefore no lack of curiosity and at the same time interest to see if the newborn will be ready immediately to challenge the competition in the fight for the title.
But this is not the only novelty that we will see next year, because Kawasaki has also decided to renew, showing off something new. This is the case of the Puccetti team, which for 2025 is strongly focusing on the latest evolution ZX-6r 636, brought to the track to relaunch the world championship race.
Speaking of Manuel’s team, the Emilian team will most likely part ways with Can Oncu, with the Turk looking for new challenges. A future with Yamaha is not out of the question for him.
