MotoGP talent challenges F1 talent on karts, amazed by how fast and challenging the open-wheeled cars are

GASGAS MotoGP driver Pedro Acosta, a very fast rookie, challenged Formula 1 talent Oscar Piastri on the Brignoles kart circuit in the south of France. An unequal fight? Not at all! The driver from Mazaron worked hard, put the advice to good use, was amazed at how fast and demanding the karts are and was ultimately beaten, but by only 9 tenths! The short track certainly helped to keep the gap low but… would you be able to do the same on your karting debut?
The track day, which you can see in the video on Quadlock’s YouTube channel, was nevertheless a great way to compare the different characteristics of the riders and of two- and four-wheel racing: helmets, Halos, physical fatigue and so on.
For Acosta it was an absolute debut, but given the results, who knows if he didn’t also think about a future move to F1, like Valentino Rossi many years ago: he jokes, saying “F1 I’m coming”, but never say never…
