Croatian, born in 1975, after having gained a very long experience as a footballer between Croatia, Spain and Italy, he began his journey as a coach in youth football and then as a technical assistant alongside Gian Piero Gasperini. He made his debut in Serie A in 2016-17 on the bench of Genoa, after having obtained – in the previous season – promotion to the top division with Crotone, the first in the history of the Calabrian club.
From 2019 to 2021 he led Hellas Verona, accompanying the yellow and blues to two consecutive salvations, also valorizing several players. In 2021 he took on the role of manager of Torino, remaining in charge until 2024 and becoming the second coach with the most benches in the last 20 years of life of the granata club.
