“The latest data tell us that in Italy we have approximately 1.2 million people affected by dementia, half of them with Alzheimer’s. We also have approximately 800 thousand subjects affected by prodromal clinical forms of dementia that constitute the gateway to possible dementia conditions. For these patients it is important to make an early diagnosis, identify risk factors and start preventive treatments”. This was stated by Camillo Marra, president of Sindem, an autonomous association adhering to Sin for dementia, speaking at the event promoted by Neopharmed Gentili, ‘Cognitive decline and dementia: how much we know, what we are doing and what impact on society and the National Health Service’.
