The Singapore Grand Prix will take place next weekend and to honor the Mercedes-AMG Petronas team, the House of the Star has prepared and developed the GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ Motorsport Collectors Edition. We are talking about a limited series of just 200 units. Obviously the engine is that bombshell of the AMG 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 612 HP. Let’s see together how this particular model is made.
If you are a fan of F1, this “Motorsport Collectors Edition” is for you. Afraid that the sail will steal? No, there is the Guard 360, so vandalism and theft are not to be feared. And then, each end customer will receive a personalized and specific AMG internal car cover, complete with breathable external lining and tear-resistant synthetic fiber fabric and an antistatic flannel internal fabric. Clearly the highlight is the livery, to say the least unique.
The Mercedes-Benz GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ Motorsport Collectors Edition therefore boasts this particular graphic design, rigorously hand-painted, with silver Mercedes stars along the entire rear sides. These “join” the filigree decorative stripes in Petronas livery, which run from the front fenders, turning along the belt line, to then reach the roof. As standard, the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R Cup tires are installed on AMG forged wheels measuring 295/30 ZR 21 at the front and 305/30 ZR 21 at the rear. These are then equipped with a matt black finish and a cross-spoke design. Here too we find the reference to Petronas, with the flanges of the rims in the typical color. The same color for the brake calipers of the braking system. The calipers, fixed, have six pistons at the front and floating with one piston at the rear. This version also boasts the AMG Exterior Carbon Fibre package as standard. Also included is the beautiful panoramic glass roof, as well as the AMG Aerodynamics package with a fixed rear spoiler on the tailgate.
Climbing aboard we find the AMG Performance seats, upholstered in black Nappa leather/microfiber with Petronas-colored stitching and embossed AMG emblems in the headrests. Comfort on board? Yes, there is the AMG Performance heated steering wheel, strictly in leather/microfiber. This is equipped, as for the door panels, the instrument panel and the center console, with stitching in the same Petronas color.
If you are a fan of hi-fi, you will not be disappointed, thanks to the Burmester High End3D surround sound system with 15 speakers and a whopping 1,170 watts of power. Also standard are the 360 camera, the MBUX interior assistant, the driving assistance package and the head-up display. There is also the AMG Track Pace for support while driving on the circuit. The Energizing package is also standard.
