What makes the PC gaming ecosystem different from consoles? With a more open status where gamers can not only examine, but also tinker with the various files that are the foundation of a video game, modding becomes one of the main selling points for most gamers outside of other benefits such as better visuals for example. Mods themselves exist with various purposes, from the “noble” ones to fix various existing technical problems, inject new content, to those that are just for fun such as changing the cosmetic side or injecting new characters. One that is also inevitable? “Naughty” mods.
With the PC version finally coming out the week this news was released, Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida expressed his concerns and hopes for the scene. In an interview with PC Gamer, Yoshida specifically asked modders not to create inappropriate mods for Final Fantasy XVI, though he didn’t go into detail about what “inappropriateness” he was referring to. He also declined to talk about what kind of mods he would like to see come out of Final Fantasy XVI, fearing that it would sound like a request to fans.
The PC version of Final Fantasy XVI itself will be released this week as well. Confirmed PC specification requirements. What about you? What kind of mods would you like to see appear in Final Fantasy XVI?
