This week sees a number of high-profile releases on Steam, including Final Fantasy XVI. Square Enix’s long-awaited masterpiece and one of the best entries in the series. It will be released today on PCwhich means more players will be able to discover what makes this RPG so special, but it also means modders will be able to show off their ingenuity.
The community loves these types of builds for design mods of all kindsas has happened previously with other chapters in the saga, such as Final Fantasy XV or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, so Square Enix is aware that the situation will repeat itself once again. However, there are those who fear that somewhat inappropriate mods may be created.
In an interview with PC Gamer, Naoki Yoshida, its producer, did not want to get involved when it came to saying what kind of mods he would like to see, but he is very clear about what Which ones do you wish would not end up coming true? at some point.
If we were to say “it would be great if someone would create xyz” that would be a request, so I’ll avoid mentioning specifics here. All I will say is that we definitely don’t want to see anything offensive or inappropriate, so please don’t make or install anything like that.
However, as worried as Yoshida is, it’s likely that users will end up doing whatever they want, so we’ll have to see what they come up with over the next few days. There may be changes to character designs, new features added, or all sorts of crazy stuff.
Also, mods don’t always have to be a bad thing, as sometimes it’s a perfect excuse to re-enjoy any adventure in a different way. That said, if you plan on getting Final Fantasy XVI On PC, you can purchase it starting today for €49.99.
