Helmond Sport has retained the lead in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie with a late goal in the home match against TOP Oss. The team of coach Kevin Hofland won 1-0 and thus keeps the lead ahead of Excelsior and FC Den Bosch, who both also won. Helmond Sport has 14 points, 1 more than the two competitors.
Helmond Sport was the only team in the first division that was still undefeated and remained so. Hofland’s team could not score at home, until the defense of TOP Oss let the ball bounce twice in the penalty area after a long cross in injury time. Dario Sits reacted well and shot in.
Excelsior decided the match against VVV-Venlo at home in the early stages and won 4-0. Jacky Donkor opened the score and after two goals from Richie Omorowa, the last one from a penalty, it was 3-0 after 22 minutes. José de Almeida Reis scored the fourth goal in the final stages.
FC Den Bosch won 3-0 at Jong FC Utrecht. The Brabanders took the lead in Utrecht through a goal by Danzell Gravenberch and an own goal by Wessel Kooy. In the second half Byron Burgering scored the third goal.
