Luca Salvadori, an Italian rider and YouTuber, died yesterday following injuries sustained in an accident during qualifying for the International Road Racing Championship (IRRC) in Frohburg, Saxony. Salvadori, a wildcard in the Superbike category, was competing in the German round of the championship with the aim of preparing for the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. During the first lap of qualifying, he was involved in a serious accident triggered by the fall of German rider Didier Grams (the dynamics are still to be ascertained). His condition immediately appeared critical, and, despite rapid transport to the hospital, he died from his injuries.
Career and passion for racing
Born in Milan in 1992, Luca was 32 years old and the son of Maurizio Salvadori, a well-known music producer and owner of Trident Music, which organizes concerts by Jovanotti and Gianni Morandi, among others. After his entrepreneurial success, Maurizio created the Trident Motorsport team, a stable active in Formula 2 and Formula 3. Luca had been exposed to the world of motorsport since childhood, but he preferred two wheels, making his debut in the Italian Speed Championship in 2009. He later alternated his career on the track with that of content creator on YouTube, where he had over half a million subscribers. In 2023 he made his debut in the MotoGP with Pramac Racing in MotoE, but an injury forced him to stop. In 2024, once he was active again, he decided to dedicate himself to the National Trophy 1000 and road races.
