BBC presenter Jay Blades has resigned from his work for the King’s Foundation, the charity of British King Charles. This was reported by British media on Sunday based on a short statement from the Foundation.
Blades, 54, has been working as a presenter of the popular BBC program The Repair Shop since 2017. On Friday it was announced that the British TV star has been charged with misconduct. He is said to have been guilty of “controlling and coercive behavior” and appeared in court for this on Friday. The BBC has suspended the series for the time being.
The program features professional craftsmen from across the country attempting to restore family heirlooms. Blades was awarded a high royal honor in 2021, when he was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). This came in the same year that King Charles was a guest on the British broadcaster’s program.
