“ALS is a challenge that touches us deeply, reminding us of how important scientific research, innovation and solidarity are. In recent years, we have made significant progress, but we are aware that the road is still long and for this reason we are committed to ensuring all patients receive the best possible care, supporting cutting-edge research projects and strengthening healthcare networks in the area”. Thus the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci, on the occasion of the 17th National ALS Day, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, which is celebrated on 14 and 15 September, recalls the importance of such a “significant” initiative for the “over 6 thousand people in Italy who live with ALS and their families. Your determination and courage – he adds – are an example for all of us”.
