The young man was accompanied to the first reception centre on Via Virginia Agnelli,
Rome, 14 September 2024 – Last night, in Largo Ascianghi, in the heart of Trastevere’s nightlife, a 20-year-old Roman reported having been approached by two boys who, with an excuse, had distracted him to tear a gold necklace from his neck and, seight the threat of pepper spray, they also forced him to hand over a bracelet he was wearing.
On site, alerted by the victim, there were the Carabinieri of the Rome Montespaccato Station, employed precisely in a control service against the “malamovida”. The military tracked down a short distance away a 16 year old Egyptian who despite his attempted escape and his attempt to get rid of the spray, which was later confiscated, was arrested because he is seriously suspected of the crime of aggravated robbery in competition.
For this reason, the suspect, after being identified, by order of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, was accompanied to the first reception center in via Virginia Agnelli, while the victim was transported to the emergency room of the Fatebenefratelli hospital. The accomplice, however, managed to escape.
For the sake of accuracy, and to protect those under investigation, we remind you that an accusation is not equivalent to a conviction, that evidence is gathered in court and that the Italian judicial system provides for three levels of judgment.
