Although the Star Wars universe is on a hiatus following the release of The Acolyte, many projects are in the works for the coming years and generate great expectations. One of the most anticipated is Landohe spin-off starring Donald Gloverwhich seeks to recapture the fun that many fans miss in the franchise.
The actor and singer commented this in an interview with the American media outlet Wall Street Journal, where he spoke about the film, originally conceived as a series, and assured that, in addition to maintaining the classic action of the saga, its main objective is to entertain viewers who attend movie theaters.
“I just want it to be fun. As a Star Wars fan, I think it’s important that there be more fun, because it’s so hard to have fun right now. It’s hard, because there’s so much serious stuff going on and those are the only things that connect us, weirdly, so I understand why things are serious. But part of the human experience, I think, is that we have a responsibility to have fun. And I feel like we’re lacking in that regard.”
According to the actor, the saga Star Wars has left aside the characteristic humor that defined its first installments, focusing more on serious and mature plots, something that even George Lucas never sought and which Disney also pointed out had contributed to consolidating that change.
Luckily, it seems that there is still some of that spirit left within the franchise and Glover will try to bring back those endearing and fun adventures for the public with Landoa film that unfortunately is still in the writing phase and that we will have to wait to see on the big screen.
