ROME – Singer, eclectic artist with an innate propensity for research and experimentation, Tosca collaborates with great artists such as Ivano Fossati, Lucio Dalla, Renzo Arbore, Nicola Piovani, Ennio Morricone, Chico Buarque, Ivan Lins, Ron (with whom she won the Sanremo Festival in 1996), Renato Zero, Sobral, Pérez Cruz. She has nine studio albums and thirteen live and theatrical albums to her credit. Since 2022 she has been the Artistic Director of Officina Pasolini, the Laboratory and cultural HUB of the Lazio Region already led since 2015 as coordinator of the Song section. For four years she was engaged in a long international tour for “Morabeza”, an album awarded with two Targhe Tenco – including best single song with “Ho amato tutto”, a song that won the Bigazzi award at the 70th Sanremo Festival – and released together with the documentary “Il suono della voce”, which won her the Nastro d’Argento as “Protagonist of the year”.
In 2024 she is an artist in residence at the Auditorium in Rome to celebrate her artistic journey that began 30 years ago with a series of events that are all different and exclusive, and this summer she started with the “La Bella Estate” tour. From Tosca’s versatility, several special projects were born, such as Romana – Omaggio a Gabriella Ferri, Sto Core Mio – Notturno napoletano per Roberto Murolo, Appunti musicali dal mondo, and we remember her passionate interpretations in the shows La strada by Fellini, Il borghese gentiluomo by Molière and Il grande dittatore by Chaplin, all alongside Massimo Venturiello, as well as her forays into social theater with I monologhi della vagina, Italiane and Donne come noi.
Always attentive to training, since 2015 she has been the artistic coordinator and director of the song section (the latter role covered by Niccolò Fabi starting from September 2022) of the Officina delle Arti Pier Paolo Pasolini, a laboratory of high artistic training and Cultural Hub of the Lazio Region. In recent years she has toured the world with her show (Algeria, Tunisia, Brazil, France and Portugal). This world tour was the inspiration for the documentary Il suono della voce (produced by Leave Music and Rai Cinema), directed by Emanuela Giordano, presented as an absolute preview in the Alice nella Città section, within the Rome Film Fest 2019. A long journey without borders around music and words that has been enriched over time by illustrious collaborations including Marisa Monte, Ivano Fossati, Ivan Lins, Alice Caymmi, Rogê, Luisa Sobral and many others.
In the fall of 2020, she hosted the ten-episode program D’Altro Canto on Radio3 Rai together with the journalist and television author Giorgio Cappozzo. Following the success achieved, on February 14, 2021, she published on physical media, purchasable through her official website, the limited edition collection D’Altro Canto, containing the covers performed during the broadcast, accompanied by the video clip “Vissi d’arte” filmed at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, the very theater where Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca debuted in January 1900.
On April 27, 2022, he launched the international versions of “Ho amato tutto” worldwide: Lo he amado todo, Amado tudo and J’ai tout aimé, adapted respectively by Sílvia Pérez Cruz in Catalan, by Adriana Calcanhotto in Portuguese and by Awa Ly in French, and set off on a long international tour between Italy, Europe, Brazil and North Africa, which ended in December 2022 with the release of the live CD Morabeza Rendez-vous Live, containing seventeen tracks (including unreleased material) recorded during the tour. During the summer of 2023, he brought Tosca Quintet to the stage, a new journey into the musical experimentation of a vast repertoire that collects the sounds of the world, specifically designed for cello, guitar, piano, percussion and voices, and the show Sto Core mio: Notturno napoletano per Roberto Murolo. For the grand finale of the Dolcevita-sur-Seine festival, on July 12, 2023, she is invited back to Paris to perform on the banks of the Seine, on the Quai des Célestins, in a new version of Romana, the show dedicated to the popular music of Rome.
In November 2023 he returns abroad for a series of concerts between Argentina and Paraguay, where he achieves enormous success. In 2024 he is an artist in residence at the Auditorium in Rome to celebrate his artistic journey that began 30 years ago with a series of events that are all different and exclusive, including four evenings with different guests from D’Altro Canto, which in the meantime has transformed from a radio program and then an album into a theatrical event. On this occasion he publishes in January 2024 the album Sto core mio, or the live concert dedicated to Roberto Murolo, recorded at the Trianon theater in Naples in 2023.
