The new supermoto from the Mattighofen manufacturer is powered by the 450 cm3 SOHC 63 HP engine and features the same updates already introduced in the 2025 SX-F range. Among these, the most important and significant undoubtedly concerns the frame, which has been lightened at the upper attachment point of the monoshock, has undergone changes to the thickness of the tube walls in the front and also benefits from updated engine mounts. On the scales, all this equates to a weight saving of 300 but, beyond the weight, the changes made have also improved the flex characteristics of the same and therefore the cornering behavior, especially in terms of stability at high speeds. Another change lies in the size of the footpegs, smaller than the previous ones, which increase the lean angles and reduce the risk of getting hooked on the curbs.

WP Revolution
The 2025 KTM 450 SMR features the 48 mm WP XACT Closed Cartridge fork for the first time, featuring a new mid-valve piston that optimizes oil flow within the cartridge. This reduces cavitation while maintaining consistent damping characteristics. Additionally, a new hydrostop ensures that shocks are properly damped in the final part of the fork’s stroke, enhancing safety in extreme riding. At the rear, the WP XACT shock absorber features a link with revised seals and smaller diameter connecting bolts, while the suspension settings are based on the experience gained from the KTM Factory Racing team’s racetrack.

Change the look, change the ergonomics
The ergonomics of the new 2025 KTM 450 SMR are characterised by new tank scoops made from dual-compound plastics. Not only does this give it a different look, it also improves cooling thanks to more efficient air channelling. As for the airbox, the one-piece intake manifold and updated snorkel prevent any deformation, resulting in a more robust and rigid structure. The tank mounting points have also been changed, offering greater protection from wear to the frame and making it easier to remove the tank itself. Visually, the orange plastics with red and black graphics and the black seat give it a more clean look, always in READY TO RACE style.

Höllbacher approved
The 2025 KTM 450 SMR has been tested first-hand by Supermoto World Championship rider Lukas Höllbacher, who has put the bike through its paces in every condition: from the scorching heat of Spanish asphalt to the sub-zero temperatures of Sweden (see it in the photos). All this to demonstrate how the 2025 KTM 450 SMR is capable of providing significant performance, regardless of the conditions it finds itself in.
