An unstoppable Angel Piqueras triumphs in Misano and takes his first win of the season, a difficult race in which he also had to pay for a double long lap handed out to him in free practice. The Spanish rookie of the Leopard team takes his Honda to the top step of the podium after an incredible comeback that saw him 17th in the early stages of the race. Daniel Holgado on the KTM of the GasGas team is very close at just 30 hundredths and 2nd on the finish line, at the end of a race that saw him always fighting at the top. Third at the checkered flag is the Spanish Ortolà of the MT Helmets team, mocked in the final laps by his compatriots after having dominated much of the race.
This was a race that did not spare any twists and turns right from the start, such as the pile-up at the first corner involving Rueda, Munoz, and the Italian Rossi.
Fourth in the standings is the Japanese Furusato, followed by the Dutchman Veijer 5th and the leader of the standings Alonso. The Colombian who started from pole today finished 7th after an unfortunate contact with Ortolà while fighting for the podium. A Sunday at Misano to be filed away also for Luca Lunetta, 9th for the SIC58 team: the Italian started second from the front row, but a false start and the consequent double long lap spoiled the opportunity to repeat on the podium after the one in Aragon, despite a good comeback from seventeenth position. His teammate Farioli closes the top ten, 10th.
Difficulties also for the other Italians: Stefano Nepa after a good start that saw him sixth, closes 14th. Carraro further back 16th. Rossi is involved in the pileup at the beginning of the race with Munoz and Rueda, without consequences for the riders. Bertelle is forced to retire three laps from the end of the race.
