Paralympics 2024, Contrafatto is bronze in the 100 meters T63: medal awarded by the judges, after the analysis of the photo finish

Paris, September 7, 2024 – From the fall to the medal. Monica Contrafatto seemed to have said goodbye to her dreams of the podium at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. The Azzurra had been hit while running, as a consequence of the fall of Amber Sabatini who accidentally touched her as she was heading towards the finish line (read here). And the Contrafatto, as observed by judges, she fell right at the finish line.

Initially the Bronze was awarded to Britain’s Ndidikama Okohbut then the medal went to the Italian athlete who had overcome her British opponent. Contrafatto then scores a personal double third placeafter the one achieved in Tokyo 2020.

The same bronze then adds to the extraordinary gold of Martina Caironi. And the Italian Athletics team then scored a double in the 100 metres T63.
