The poor attendance of Horizon: An American Saga has caused the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2, the sequel to his western series, to be postponed, according to Kevin Costner. The film was shown for the first time on the closing day of the Venice Film Festival.
Costner told reporters after the preview screening of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 that he was happy his film was showing in Venice. “My plan was to show Chapter 2 in Venice, and now we can,” he said.
Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 was originally supposed to be released in August, but after the poor reception of the first part of Horizon, it was decided to postpone the release. “It wasn’t an overwhelming success,” the American actor and director said about the first part. The film was very poorly received at the Cannes festival.
No new worldwide release date has been set for Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2. The Hollywood star has partially self-financed the project. The Western series will explore the challenges faced by settlers as they expanded into the American West in the late 1800s. Their story is planned to be told in four parts. Costner said he doesn’t yet know how he’ll make the remaining two parts. “But I’m going to do it,” he said, adding that the setbacks only strengthened his resolve.
