The popular game Deadlock continues to expand its roster of heroes, and this time an unexpected teaser has emerged that introduces one of the most intriguing characters to date: Slork, a shark man with the ability to bite his enemies. Although he is still in development, the leaks about this new hero are already generating great excitement among players.
Valve, known for its meticulous development, has yet to officially release Slork, but YouTuber Mon Facts managed to access this model via a console command, without revealing any details on how he did so. Mixing features from two DOTA 2 heroes, Slark and Riki, Slork combines Slark’s aquatic appearance with a Riki-like stealth ability that makes him disappear when he gets far enough away from enemies.
Even though Slork’s model still looks unfinished, several of his abilities are already known, making him an exciting hero for Deadlock’s future. Here are the ones that have been revealed so far:
Riptide: Releases a wave that pushes back enemies and can bounce off walls, creating chaos on the battlefield. Chomp: Jumps on an enemy and bites them ferociously. Deep’s Embrace: Envelops Slork in a layer of water, although the effect of this ability is not yet fully defined. Ambush Predator: Allows him to attack multiple targets from the shadows at the same time.
Despite his appearance and abilities being constantly tweaked, Slork already promises to be a unique hero in Deadlock, adding new dynamics and strategic possibilities to the game. While Valve is still working on his design and functionality, players can look forward to seeing him in action when the game continues to expand with more characters in future updates.
Chaos on the Deadlock Discord server
While the Slork leak was a big deal, it wasn’t the only recent development involving Deadlock, as a hacker exploited a vulnerability in the official server bot, Carl (affectionately renamed “Bebop” after one of the game’s most feared characters), to misleadingly announce the game’s “cancellation,” sparking chaos among users.
The announcement, posted via the bot, was quickly denied by the server moderator, Yoshi, who explained that it was an exploit used to post the message. However, the hacker, determined to increase the confusion, immediately responded with a simple “(he’s lying)”, which unleashed even more chaos in the chat.
Even though Deadlock is still in development and the news was obviously fake, the incident exposed a vulnerability in the customization of the Carl bot, commonly used on various Discord servers. Incorrect configurations can allow any user with inappropriate permissions to post messages in specific channels using commands like “!echo”, which could have been the case in this attack.
Yoshi, keeping his good humor, later joked about the incident, suggesting that “Bebop will need a nerf in the next patch.” Meanwhile, the Deadlock server continues to run as normal, though this episode proves that even in success, there is always room for a touch of chaos in the gaming community.
