Remaking a game, especially a legendary title, to a modern platform is certainly not an easy matter. The developer needs to think about so many things, especially how to capture the hearts of veteran gamers who have tasted the old series while ensuring that this product can still be enjoyed by new gamers. As far as the eye can see, Bloober Team looks to have done a fantastic job with the Silent Hill 2 Remake that Konami has given them. For old gamers who miss the sensation of the original series, this game will present features that might cure that longing.
Via Twitter, Bloober Team confirmed that Silent Hill 2 Remake will come with a filter feature called “90s” which is indeed designed to present the most immersive experience. This filter will automatically turn off all types of UI on the screen, add grain effects, different color corrections, and also screen adjustments in the name of presenting a more old-school gaming sensation. Due to the absence of UI, gamers will be directed to the next destination only via visual clues, sound effects, or James’ head movements which will indeed look at locations that are considered important.
