Through a post on X, Bloober Team, the studio responsible for the remake of Silent Hill 2, shared a couple of details that could be part of the experience of players when the title debuts on October 8. The first of them is an option to remove all elements of the user interface, meaning there will be no on-screen signs, no item indicators or puzzle solutions, in order to offer an immersive experience for those who want to live out James Sunderland’s nightmare.

Meanwhile, Bloober Team has revealed that one of the visual options for the Silent Hill 2 remake is inspired by the style of survival horror from the late 90s and early 2000s, right around the time of the original release. It’s a grainy visual effect that will bring the remake closer to the 2001 version. According to the studio, this option is intended for those who played the classic on PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
Recently, Konami members who are part of this project assured that the Japanese company is serious about the return of the franchise and the remake of Silent Hill 2 is just the beginning of a new era that will result, hopefully, in new installments.
