A great piece of news regarding astronauts stranded on the space station is leaving everyone speechless. According to the first rumors, it would seem that a Space Force Guardian is about to go into Space to bring the two astronauts home. NASA announced it, revealing that Colonel Nick Hague will take up this rolethe protagonist of a mission that no one had attempted until now. Specifically, the mission consists of bringing back, and therefore home, Butch Wilmore e Suni Williams that is, the astronauts who carried Boeing’s Starliner to the International Space Station.
It all happened at the beginning of the summer, the two were supposed to return shortly after but unfortunately due to the inefficient capsule it was not possible to do so. Always according to the first information that has emerged on this incredible mission it would seem that it will be launched by the end of the current month. The two astronauts together with their savior should instead return to Earth no earlier than February aboard the SpaceX Dragon capsule, protagonist of NASA’s Crew-9 mission.
A journey that lasted months
For the astronauti Williams e Wilmore the mission began at the beginning of June was supposed to last only eight days. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and in fact a journey of a few days turned into a journey that lasted months. Some information recently emerged reveal that the capsule without the crew would be ready to return to Earth tomorrow, September 6.
For Hague, what should happen at the end of the month will not be the first launch with the Space Force. In fact, in 2019, when he was still part of the Air Force, he remained aboard the ISS for a fairly long period, namely six months. And before that, in 2018, he had also tried a launch with the Russian Soyuz rocket which however turned out to be inefficient.
