Naruto, despite having concluded years ago, remains one of the most influential mangas in history. Naruto’s magnum opus Masashi Kishimoto It captivated an entire generation and left memorable secondary characters, so much so that one of them had his own story through a one-shot on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the series.
It seems that the idea of creating short, self-contained stories is still on the mangaka’s mind. At a recent convention in France, Kishimoto expressed his openness to continuing with the one-shots focusing on various secondary characters, especially mentioning one of the public’s favorites: Itachi Uchiha.
“Yes, I’d like to do others, but I’m taking my time to think about it. In fact, I based it on a character ranking made by readers. Minato was the first. The second is Itachi… I say it half-jokingly, but you never know.”
Although he has not confirmed any new projects, it seems that, after a long break surrounded by his family and friends, Kishimoto has regained his motivation to write. If we follow the ranking he made a few years ago, in which thousands of fans participated, the next on the list would be Sasuke’s brother.
These stories would be very well received by a large part of the public. The Minato Namikaze one-shot was a huge success, and further exploring supporting characters much loved by fans, such as Rock Lee, Hinata Hyuga or Deidara, would be a real treat.
