That is a big problem, according to hobby beekeeper Peter Horstink. “You put a lot of time and effort into it, and then it would be a shame if your bees were eaten. They are your children after all”, he says. “But what is even worse: biodiversity suffers greatly. Because if there are fewer bees, there is also less pollination. And that has a big impact on the ecosystem. We therefore owe it to nature that the nests are removed.”
