Bulletin from Vinicio Rosadi. Scorching heat and… classy flames. The garden of Castiglion del Lago lights up with the promises of Alessandro Lupino, Ducati, MX1, and Valerio Lata, GasGas, MX2. In the name of continuity
August 31, 2024
Castiglione del Lago, August 31. Time box. Year of Our Lord 1988. The Gioiella track hosts the first world race. Mud. Jean-Michel Bayle imposes an embarrassing domination and wins the 125 class comparison by a landslide. At the end of the race he makes the following statement: “I was frankly undecided. At first I thought that winning the first race could bring bad luck, and for this reason it seemed like a good idea to let Dave Strijbos pass. Then I thought that giving him 3 points would have been stupid anyway…” At the end of the year, Bayle wins the world championship with a 3-point advantage over Strijbos.
I didn’t remember it, this beautiful story is given to you by Alessandro Castellani. And since it’s a day of gifts, the second gift is from Diego Mancuso, monumental author of Motorsport. He is the one who takes care of the extra content, from behind the scenes to the most “invasive” interviews possible, of the actors and the Castiglion del Lago show. Be careful, it’s a timed gift, since it will be streamed the Friday after the races on Vijion.tv, free digital TV dedicated to passions. For the live streaming of the Races on our page, however, a moment of patience. Well, do we want to move on with the “current events”? The track, the Vinicio Rosadi, is boiling with this long, torrid summer. Luckily, every now and then there is a breath of air. And super luckily, for about ten years, an Italian uniqueness in the sector, half of the paddock is in the shadow of the enormous photovoltaic system, the work of human ingenuity and the foresight of human… administrators.
Alessandro Lupino and Valerio Lata. This is the verdict of the SKF SuperPole on Saturday in Castiglione del Lago, the penultimate date of the Italian Prestige 24MX – Borilli Pro Series championship.
Mx1 Alessandro Lupino (Ducati – Fiamme Oro) set the perfect lap in 1’40”409, almost a second better than Jan Pancar (KTM), Andrea Bonacorsi (Yamaha – Fiamme Oro), Yuri Quarti (Honda – Cairatese), Ivo Monticelli (Beta – Andrea Marchetti) and Giuseppe Tropepe (Honda – Verolese).
MX2. Valerio Lata (GasGas – Fiamme Oro) is still fifth in SuperPole out of five races held so far. The 1’41”761 keeps Yago Martinez (TM) at bay, 1’42”745, and Alessandro Manucci (GasGas – Trivella).
The races live starting at 12:30 (Race 1 MX2 and MX1) and from 15:00 (Race 2 MX2 and MX1). The streaming link will appear on these pages shortly before.
