The Alien franchise has once again become the focus of much discussion following the release of its latest film, Alien: Romulus. Many fans wish to see the continuation of the saga with new films and series that offer more moments of terror and anguish. On the other hand, some dream of the return of its most iconic character, Ellen Ripley, after so many years of absence.
Recently, in an interview with the American media Deadline, the iconic Sigourney Weaver She also spoke about the possibility of returning to the franchise as Lieutenant Ripley. Although she doesn’t seem to have any intention of returning in the short term, the actress doesn’t rule out the idea of facing the Xenomorph again in the future.
“I feel like she’s never far from me, but on the other hand I haven’t read a script yet that says, ‘You have to do this,'” Weaver explained of Ripley’s role in future films. “So for me, she’s in this other dimension, safe from the Alien for the moment. I don’t really think about it, but you know, it’s not completely impossible.”
Obviously, this doesn’t confirm that Ripley will return in the future of the saga, but it leaves open the possibility that she might be interested in participating in future projects as long as the script offered to her makes sense and lives up to a legend like Weaver’s character.
