Phenomenal doesn’t seem like an exaggeration to say what Netflix’s Love, Death, & Robots has achieved. The series, which is an accumulation of anthology films from so many directors and studios, comes with its own different stories, which are also combined with a 2D or 3D animation-based style that is pleasing to the eye. Have you ever imagined what would happen if a similar concept was then implemented into a game adaptation film? This is what Prime Video is reportedly trying to do.
Prime Video is reportedly planning to build an anthology film product based on existing video game worlds. Deadline reports that Prime Video will recruit Tim Mille and Blur Studio – the studio responsible for Love, Death, & Robots to handle this project. Each episode will appear like a short film based on a different video game franchise. For now, Deadline has heard that there are several games that will be adapted, from Spelunky, New World (Amazon’s MMORPG), and several Playstation game titles.
Deadline also wrote that it is highly likely that this project will be introduced at the Opening Night Live Gamescom 2024 event which will take place in the next few days. What do you think? Sounds like an interesting concept?
