Japanese rider arrives in the premier class, two-year contract
August 15, 2024
Now it’s official: in 2025 and 2026 the Trackhouse Racing team will field Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez. The US team has in fact confirmed the signature of the Japanese rider, fighting for the Moto2 world championship.
Both Raul and Ogura will have the official Aprilia RS-GP machines at their disposal.
Ogura, 23, is now second in the Moto2 world championship, the same position he occupied in 2022, when he came close to the title, which eventually went to Augusto Fernandez.
Ogura, born in 2002, races with the number 79 and has previously competed in the Asia Talent Cup, where he made his debut in 2015, taking a victory in his first season.
After finishing second in the 2016 Asia Talent Cup, Ogura moved to Europe, competing in the FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship for two seasons from 2017. He also made his debut in the Moto3 World Championship in 2018, where he finished third in 2020.
