With less than a year to go until the return of one of Marvel Studios’ most beloved superheroes, Daredevil: Born Again is shaping up to be a series that will give a lot to talk about. This new production, starring Charlie Cox, has undergone several changes since its announcement, including the canonization of Netflix’s Daredevil along with its supporting characters, which will be crucial to understanding the plot of the new series.
Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Wilson Fisk, confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Daredevil: Born Again will pick up on several story arcs left unfinished in the Netflix series, suggesting that viewers might benefit from rehashing the original series before diving into this new installment.
“There are stories that connect to the original series,” D’Onofrio said, noting the importance of the Netflix cast returning to this ambitious project. “Where our characters came from, where they are now, and where they’re going — some of those narrative elements take us back in time.”
Daredevil: Born Again will be one of Marvel Studios’ biggest projects next year, alongside other big productions like Fantastic Four and the new Captain America movie. Matt Murdock and his allies are likely to establish themselves as key figures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s underworld in the medium and long term.
