ABBA singer Björn Ulvaeus paid a surprise visit to the cast of Mamma Mia! The Party, the dinner show that will be on show at Rotterdam’s Schiecentrale from September. The famous singer and creator of the show came to watch the first rehearsals, which started this week.
Mamma Mia! The Party is a dinner show that focuses on songs by the Swedish pop group ABBA. The story is about the owner of a Greek tavern and his family. A Greek village is recreated for the show. Horace Cohen, Kaj van der Voort, Wieneke Remmers, Jeannine La Rose, Belle Zimmerman and Anouk Maas play the leading roles.
Lead actress Maas finds it “really special” that Ulvaeus was present to cut the traditional cake with the entire cast. “He watched all our auditions from a distance and he approved us. And now he’s standing next to us. I think I speak for everyone when I say that it means a lot to us, especially because we can now ask him anything.”
The dinner show will premiere on September 27. Ulvaeus will also be present.
