The live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has released its first trailer, generating great expectations among its fans. During the D23 event, Rachel Zegler, who will play Snow White, and Gal Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen, appeared to talk about their roles in the film.
The former anticipated that “it’s been the honor of a lifetime,” becoming the iconic princess. “I think any young girl, any little girl, if they can put on a Disney princess dress and be her for a day, let alone for six months… it’s been the most incredible experience and I can’t wait to share it with all of you,” she explained.
The trailer for the film, which will be titled Snow White in Spain, reimagines the 1937 classic and features new songs created by songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, all directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man).
Gadot, who rose to fame as Wonder Woman, expressed her excitement about playing the Evil Queen: “It was so much fun to do something completely different than I’ve done before. She’s delicious, she’s evil, she’s magical. We got to sing different songs. It was amazing.” The actress has already explained how her casting came about in order to land the role.
The story of Snow White will repeat itself
Snow White will once again explore the story of a princess whose beauty arouses the jealousy of her evil stepmother, the Queen. After fleeing the castle to save her life, the protagonist finds refuge in a cabin inhabited by seven dwarves. However, the Queen, disguised as an old woman, manages to trick her with a poisoned apple, which will plunge her into a deep sleep until a kiss of true love awakens her.
Scheduled to be released on March 22, 2024, Snow White will be released on March 21, 2025. The Incredibles 3 was also confirmed at D23, while Frozen IV was revealed to be the third installment of the saga without having been released due to a high-caliber story being developed.
