Disney’s D23 event tonight is bringing all kinds of news, including the announcement of The Incredibles III. In the case of Walt Disney Animation, it was surprising to learn that the company is already developing Frozen IV, a film that comes after there are numerous unanswered questions following the first two installments of the successful franchise. It seems that Frozen III will not be enough to close the story of Elsa, Anna, Olaf and company, which has led to the decision.
Frozen III producer Jennifer Lee hinted to the audience at the Anaheim Convention Center that the developing story is so epic that it had to be spread out over two parts, making official something that had been suggested since November 2023, as reported by Comicbook.
At the time, it was mentioned that the team was deeply excited about the story they were creating together, which is so big that it might not fit into one movie. So it seems that the new Frozen will be developed in two parts, something supported by Disney CEO Bob Iger, who had also mentioned the possibility of a Frozen IV during an appearance on Good Morning America while the Frozen Land was opening at Disneyland Hong Kong.

For now, all we know about Frozen III is that it will be released in 2027 and that it will receive a sequel. Luckily, during the event, the first conceptual art of the film was shown, in which we can see Elsa and the water spirit in the form of a horse that accompanies her, the Nokk, together with her sister Anna, who is also riding a horse that does not seem to be either Sitron or Kjeff. Olaf is also with the sisters.
Among other news, it has also been confirmed that the hit musical Frozen, recorded live on stage with Samantha Barks as Elsa, will be coming to Disney+ next year.
