“The Administrative Justice Council of the Sicily Region has confirmed our position”
Rome, 9 August 2024 – “Even The Administrative Justice Council of the Sicily Region has confirmed our positione, endorsing the revocation of the NCC authorization of the Municipality of Giarratana, which operated permanently in the capital in violation of current legislation. In particular, the rental company advertised exclusively services to and from the capital on its website, while the garage was found, according to checks by the Local Police, to have never been used. Furthermore, it was found that the administrative seizure of the vehicle was not even respected”. This was stated in a press release Christopher De Marchis of Anar (the National Association of Car Rental Companies United).
“In the meantime, the hearings at the Palace of Justice in Rome are scheduled for 20 and 25 September,” explains De Marchis. which will involve 52 defendants accused of criminal associationand aimed at counterfeiting NCC titles. It is disturbing to read the documents of the so-called Operation Shadow Charter, which has brought to light crimes of fraud, money laundering and impersonation, for a turnover of over one and a half million euros. In addition, also in the month of September, two hearings await us at the courts of Ragusa and Frosinone against numerous rental companies who had falsely declared the use of the garage in the municipality of belonging. ANAR, together with our lawyer Arturo Grasso, will be present, as usual, to ask for justice”.
“The statements of Mayor Gualtieri – concludes De Marchis – and of the mobility councillor Eugenio Patanè appear paradoxical, as they candidly admit to having an in-depth knowledge of the phenomenon, defining it as “relative illegality”. One wonders whether the 103 false permits registered in the white lists of the ZTL of Rome also fall into this category. In our opinion, it seems that the only “relative” concept in question is that of legality, as interpreted by this administration.”
