The latest data released by ASAPS (Association of Supporters and Friends of the Highway Police) regarding road victims are worrying. Between Friday 2 and Sunday 4 August, 41 victims were recorded in road accidents in Italy, an increase compared to the previous weekend which counted 36. The youngest victim was 19 years old, while the oldest was 91; ten of the victims were under 35.
The data regarding motorcycles are particularly worrying: 19 deaths involved motorcyclists. Then came motorists (12), 3 pedestrians, 4 cyclists, a scooter driver, a quad bike driver and a bus passenger.

Two accidents resulted in four fatalities, while 22 fatal accidents were caused by the vehicle leaving the road without the involvement of third parties.
On state and provincial roads, 21 fatal accidents occurred, 4 on the motorway. This is the location of the accidents: 6 in Tuscany, 5 in Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Lazio, 4 in Puglia and Sicily, 3 in Liguria, 2 in Piedmont, one each in Trentino-Alto Adige, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Abruzzo, Basilicata, Campania, Calabria and Sardinia.
