Video game adaptations to other media are experiencing one of their best moments, which has led to quite a few production companies that have taken notice of the multiple licenses in the sector to bring new stories to the big screen and even to streaming services. In fact, there are quite a few examples of great success over the years, as we find some such as Super Mario Bros. The Movie, which is the third highest-grossing animated film in history, as well as The Last of Us on Max, which has received great reviews and awards.
In that sense, the next one to hit the big screen will be the Borderlands movie, a film that will star movie stars like Cate Blanchett, who even went so far as to buy a PS5 to play the video game and understand her character. Be that as it may, with an imminent release, the first reviews of the film have already arrived, which do not put it in a very good light.
Borderlands fails to impress early viewers
While it must be said that in video game adaptations, due to their very origin, the critics are not usually very favorable, the clearest example of this being the Super Mario Bros. movie itself, which delighted fans but not critics, it seems that Borderlands has already fulfilled the latter to a certain extent, since some viewers who have already been able to see it are defining it as a bad movie that turns adaptations from the 2000s into masterpieces.
Can finally give my thoughts on the Borderlands movie, a film I’ve been dying to tell everyone how cancerously unfunny it is.
An absolute dull and trite experience that makes gaming movies from the 2000s look like masterpieces.

Critics also mention that while the film has tried to follow the Guardians of the Galaxy formula, it doesn’t quite shine, especially because some critics point out that Borderlands fans will find that the characters have not been faithfully adapted, especially Tina. However, some agree that Claptrap is the best part of the film.
Borderlands is easily one of the worst movies of the year. Fans will be pissed off with how much they get the characters wrong (especially Tina), casual moviegoers will be unimpressed at how much it feels like a half-baked GOTG ripoff.
