ROME – After being presented at the 70th edition of the Taormina Film Fest, ‘Finché notte non ci separi’ by Riccardo Antonaroli, a brilliant bittersweet comedy starring Pilar Fogliati and Filippo Scicchitano, will be released in cinemas on August 29 with 01 Distribution.
Pilar Fogliati, after the success of her first film as protagonist and director (‘Romantiche’), which earned her the Nastro d’Argento and two Globi d’Oro, and Filippo Scicchitano, revelation actor of ‘Scialla!’ (Francesco Bruni, 2011), play a couple of newlyweds struggling with a first night of marriage that will turn into a night-time journey capable of making them reflect – between one laugh and another – on marriage, its compromises and on the eternal mystery of love. They exchanged rings and swore eternal love only a few hours ago and now here they are, Eleonora and Valerio, hand in hand in the most luxurious hotel in Rome, ready to enjoy their honeymoon.
They don’t know that instead they will soon be catapulted into the night of a fascinating and mysterious Rome, in search of something… and perhaps of themselves. After the successful debut film ‘La Svolta’ (2022), distributed worldwide by Netflix, Riccardo Antonaroli signs his second feature film direction with a refined comedy of errors in which his characters move among the lights of a nocturnal, secret and fascinating Rome.
The film, produced by Rodeo Drive and Life Cinema with Rai Cinema, will be previewed in numerous Italian arenas from 10 to 20 August. ‘Finché notte non ci separi’ is based on Honeymood by Talya Lavie (2020), the successful comedy presented at the BFI London Film Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival and in competition at the 67th edition of the Taormina Film Fest.
