Update 09:22h:The official Phantom Blade Zero X account has made the following statement regarding the information that has emerged about an Xbox version.
Recently, we have learned that some media outlets have claimed to have interviewed an anonymous S-GAME developer on Chinajoy, who seems to have made some statements regarding the release platforms and strategy for Phantom Blade Zero.
We would like to clarify that these statements do not represent S-GAME’s values or culture, as we believe in making our game accessible to everyone and have not ruled out any platform for Phantom Blade Zero. We are working hard on both development and publishing to ensure that as many players as possible can enjoy our game at launch and in the future.
Our team is looking forward to sharing more development updates soon, and we’re excited to bring our global demo to Gamescom this month!
We still don’t know when Phantom Blade Zero will land on PS5 and PC, but what is certain is that we are talking about one of the most anticipated titles for the future. Hack & Slash with Asian setting has conquered in each of its appearances and the most recent one took place at ChinaJoy 2024.
The event, held in the city of Shanghai, has hosted a large number of video games developed in China, including Black Myth: Wukong and the project from the developers of S-GAME StudioIn a conversation with journalists attending the fair, both studios stated that they did not have any kind of exclusivity with Sony.
They did make it clear that their collaboration with the PlayStation games department is very close, providing a lot of support to make the titles known in Asia. Even so, the decision not to launch their productions on Xbox is a pure decision made by the executives of the developer companies and one of the creators of Phantom Blade Zero was more specific.
As he anonymously told New, PlayStation helped out in the testing phase, providing specialized debugging tools and even sending engineers to polish the PS5 and PC versions. He added that the Demand for Xbox consoles in Asia is really lowwhich is why it makes no sense for them to create another edition.
Finally, he also added the detail that the Microsoft ecosystem is very saturated, which makes it difficult to develop games for that platform.
