After the slight drop in June, the data from Confindustria ANCMA show a growth in July with an 8.4% increase and just under forty-two thousand registered vehicles
August 5, 2024
The monthly data reported in the usual press release by Confindustria ANCMA paint a positive picture for the two-wheeler market in Italy. After the slight decline recorded last June, which had lost a total of just under three percent on the same month last year, in July 2024 the balance instead marks a comforting 8.46 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
In particular, also considering the season, motorcycles are pulling with a growth of 12.3% and 16,945 registrations. Scooters record an increase of 6.11% corresponding to 22,286 registered units. It is important to note that mopeds, after four months of decline, also return to positive figures of 4.89% with 2,509 vehicles sold. In total, therefore, July closes with 41,740 registered units.
The annual trend
Broadening the observation as usual, we note the very good trend of 2024. Let us remember that 2023 was a record year! The cumulative of the first seven months exceeds the threshold of two hundred and fifty thousand units sold (254,865) and therefore marks a growth of six percent compared to the same months of last year. The strong push of motorcycles is confirmed, growing by 8.41% and registering 113,359 units; scooters register 129,746 vehicles equal to an increase of 5.08%; despite the good result of July, the market of mopeds remains negative, losing 5.15% and putting 11,760 units on the road.
The best-selling scooters
There is no particular news in the scooter sector either, with the usual SH “brothers” clearly dominating the rankings. It is also worth remembering that the first five scooters in the rankings all sell more than the first motorbike, just to make the necessary proportions. In first place is the SH 125, followed by the SH 150 and the SH 350 which alone have exceeded 25,000 units since January. Next comes the Agility 125 R16 by Kymco, always constant, and the Piaggio Liberty 125 Abs. As usual we still find Honda with the maxi scooter X-Adv 750. The top ten is completed by the Beverly 300 Abs, Adv 350, Xmax 300 and Tmax.
