Jacques d’Ancona will be driven through his city of Groningen for the last time on Monday. The theatre critic died at the end of last month at the age of 86.
The tour starts at d’Ancona’s home and passes the Stadsschouwburg and the editorial office of the Dagblad van het Noorden. D’Ancona wrote reviews for that newspaper until shortly before his death. The funeral is in Martiniplaza.
Along the route people pay their last respects to d’Ancona. On the facade of Martiniplaza a message to d’Ancona can be read: “dag Jacques”.
